With states now using the economy as a tool to help them achieve their geopolitical objectives, we have entered the age of geoeconomics, in which the global economy has become fused with geopolitical strategy. Geoeconomic risk is having a huge impact not only on the states that were the focus of traditional security policy, but also on the management of private sector companies that do business globally. This makes raising the level of expertise and practical skills in the field an urgent task.

The IOG is a private and independent think tank that focuses on geoeconomics. It aims to be a hub for intellectual exchange in the Asia-Pacific region and make a significant global impact.
