- Geoeconomics

To better understand the rapid changes in global society, the evolving landscape of international relations, and the dynamism of regional communities, we advance research in the fields of International Relations, Area Studies, and Geopolitics. Amid rising geopolitical risks and increasing fluidity in the international order, we are deepening our engagement with issues of peace and security while building an intellectual foundation for analyzing the structures of interdependence and conflict across diverse regions. With a strong focus on policy-relevant research that combines academic insight with real-world perspectives, we work together with scholars and policy practitioners in Japan and around the world to generate and share knowledge that addresses today’s pressing geopolitical challenges.
