A Special Event Co-Presented by IHJ and Opera Salon Tonakai: An Invitation to “Turandot”

The International House of Japan hosts Special Lectures for Members featuring distinguished practitioners from various fields to foster exchange among members. In July, as a special edition of this series, we are delighted to present “An Introduction to the Opera Turandot” as a collaborative event with Opera Salon Tonakai.

For many years, Opera Salon Tonakai has been hosting concerts where guests can enjoy opera in an approachable setting accompanied by fine dining, with the aim of promoting and expanding opera culture. For this occasion, we are pleased to present a special collaboration between Tonakai and IHJ.

On the day of the event, professional opera singers will perform highlights from the masterpiece Turandot right before your eyes, providing easy-to-understand and engaging commentary on the work’s appeal and musical highlights.

This event is perfect for anyone with an interest in opera but has felt it might be a bit intimidating.

Of course, long-time opera lovers are also sure to be delighted by the powerful performances of professional singers—at a distance rarely experienced—and by their insightful commentary.

Furthermore, following the performance, we will host a reception with the cast members featuring our excellent cuisine and drinks. It will be a rare opportunity to speak with them directly and enjoy a truly memorable evening.

With the beautiful greenery of our garden in the background, this program offers both the emotional richness of opera and the warmth of engaging with members of the I-House community. Don’t miss this special evening made possible through this collaboration.

I-House members and accompanying guests: 15,000 yen/person
Non-members: 18,000 yen/person

*If the event reaches capacity during the member registration period, non-member registration will not be offered.
