Tsuyoshi was born in 1952 in Kochi, Japan.
After graduating from Keio University Faculty of Business and Commerce in 1975, Tsuyoshi joined Tokio Marine & Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. (currently Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd.) and has held various positions including assignments to the Los Angeles Office and the Corporate Planning Dep as well as a management of Global Overseas Operations. In 2013, Tsuyoshi was appointed the President of Tokio Marine Holdings, Inc. and Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. He devoted himself to being the President and Group CEO of Tokio Marine Holdings, Inc. in 2016, and became the Chairman of the Board in 2019.
Other positions include Vice Chairman of Keidanren, Japan Business Federation, and Outside Director of FUJIFILM Holdings Corporation and Central Japan Railway Company.
