Profile
Is a professor of health policy and management at the School of Medicine, Keio University. Received an MD in health sciences and nursing in 2003 from the Graduate School of Medicine, University of Tokyo, and a doctorate from the same university. As a specialist in data science and healthcare policies, is involved in the development of various health-related projects to change society for the better, such as the National Clinical Database involving 5,000 hospitals around Japan and the nationwide COVID-related LINE surveys led by the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare. Also works with groups like the World Economic Forum on a new vision for a “resonant society” of diverse, vibrant individuals. Is a member of the Health Care 2035 Advisory Panel of the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare; an advisory board member of the MHLW’s Data-based Health Management Initiatives , and a thematic project producer for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. Is the author of Kyomei suru mirai: Deta kakumei de umidasu korekara no sekai (A Resonant Future: What a Data Revolution Can Engender) (Kawade Shinsho, 2020).
