Profile

Takahiro Kamisuna is the 3rd API Matsumoto-Samata Fellow of the International House of Japan. He will be assigned to the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) from November 2024. He is also a PhD candidate at University of Cambridge-Centre of Development Studies. He has extensively worked on political economy in East and Southeast Asia and the winner of Pattana Kitiarsa Prize for Best Graduate Student Paper at Association of Asian Studies in the U.S. (2021). Takahiro has also worked on economic security in Indo-Pacific region at National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies in Tokyo and Centre of Geopolitics at Cambridge, as well as infrastructure business for Asian emerging market at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. He earned MA at Osaka University (valedictorian) and MSc. at London School of Economics. He speaks English, Indonesian, Japanese, and Tetun.
