Profile
Mitsuyoshi Yamashita serves as Deputy Executive Director of the Program Division at the International House of Japan, where he is responsible for strategic planning, budget formulation and financial management, governance and risk oversight, as well as reporting to management meetings and coordinating cross-institutional projects. He also leads personnel planning, evaluation systems, recruitment and training initiatives, while promoting team development and communication. Externally, he engages with partner institutions, participates in committees, and oversees operational coordination for program implementation.
Prior to his current role, he served as Manager at Nagoya University of Commerce & Business Graduate School, overseeing communications, event management, admissions operations, and brand-building initiatives. At Startup Hub Tokyo TAMA, he acted as Chief Concierge, providing hundreds of entrepreneurship consultations annually and designing workshops, including specialized programs for aspiring entrepreneurs in the education sector. His earlier career includes serving as Program Manager of the “Venture for All” program at Columbia Business School, Manager of the University of Wales MBA Program at Human Academy, and Head of International Education Programs at Sundai Global Club. He has extensive experience in professional education, international talent development, and study-abroad support.
Yamashita earned his MBA as a Deming Scholar at Fordham Graduate School of Business (2014) and a B.A. in Business Administration from Prefectural University of Hiroshima (2005). He also completed coursework in University Management and Internationalization at the Graduate School of Education, The University of Tokyo, and the Private University Management Academy certificate program at Kyoto University. His areas of expertise include program strategy, education management, international collaboration, entrepreneurship support, and human resource development.
