About The Asia-Pacific Group
The Asia-Pacific Group is one of the three regional pillars of the Trilateral Commission and is composed of members from across the Asia-Pacific region.
The Commission was originally established as a trilateral framework linking North America, Europe, and Japan. Since 2000, reflecting both the expanding scope of its activities and the growing importance of the region, the framework has broadened beyond Japan to encompass the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Today, the Group incorporates perspectives from East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Oceania, addressing both regional and global challenges. In doing so, it reflects the region’s diversity while ensuring that Asia-Pacific perspectives are represented in the broader trilateral dialogue.
Leadership at the Asia-Pacific Group
The Trilateral Committee is led by a Chair and Deputy Chairs from each region.
